"Our NDANG Hooligan Lake Winnipeg fishing trip was an unforgettable experience, and it simply wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of Heroes Compass. The trip was an absolute blast—great fishing, great company, and the kind of camaraderie that reminds us why these moments matter so much to currently serving and retired military members.
We’re incredibly grateful for the donation that made this adventure a reality. Opportunities like this give our service members a chance to step away from the stress of daily responsibilities, reconnect with one another, and enjoy the outdoors in a meaningful way. It’s more than just a fishing trip; it’s a chance to recharge, bond, and feel appreciated.
Heroes Compass played a direct role in creating those memories. Your support shows that there are organizations and sponsors who truly care about the well‑being of our military community. Knowing that your contributions go toward experiences like this—experiences that lift spirits, strengthen connections, and honor service—should give every sponsor confidence that their generosity is making a real difference.
Thank you for believing in us, supporting us, and helping make trips like this possible. Your impact is felt far beyond the shoreline."

"Fishing is one of my favorite pastimes to do with fellow veterans and serving members. The camaraderie I experience from sharing stories while fishing or over a meal together is very cathartic and uplifting for my soul.
These experiences wouldn't be possible without the patriotic people who give to those who serve their country.
I'm so thankful for the generosity of the Hero's Compass Organization and its donors. Their donations help provide equipment, gear, and supplies needed for outdoor experiences that would otherwise be unattainable for some veterans. Thank you so much for your support!!"

"Today, while visiting the Fargo National Cemetery, I coined an individual, a worker, as a small token of appreciation. I thanked them for the important work they do and for helping honor our Veterans, acknowledging that their service often goes unseen but is deeply meaningful. I felt called to say something to this gentleman who was preparing for a funeral. I wanted him to know how grateful I felt."

"As the director of NDSU Bison Strides, I was honored to receive a coin from Tim Kuhn after our two organizations hosted an Open House for military service members, Veterans and their families. Bison Strides is an equine assisted services program that partners horses and humans for healing. We serve individuals with disabilities, as well as offer a Military and Veterans Horsemanship program for those who have served and continue to serve our country. As prey animals, horses are highly tuned into our behaviors, which often reflect our emotional state. Horses are non-judgmental and demand we be present and mindful in relationship with one another. These skills are vital in human relationships too. Our hope is that more Veterans and service members find Bison Strides and have the opportunity to experience the therapeutic power of horse. We are humbled to support defenders of our nation through horsemanship, and so very grateful for our new found relationship with Heroes Compass. We look forward to staying connected and serving our community heroes. Thank you!"
